These are all great additions, even I would have liked to see a handful more new enemies tossed into the mix. XCOM®: Enemy Within is the expansion to the 2012 Game of the Year award-winning strategy game XCOM: Enemy Unknown. A new invisible alien will appear out of nowhere to incapacitate and eventually kill an unlucky squad member. Your MEC units will face off against Mechtoids, and the human Exalt agents also have gene modifications. There are a handful of new enemies in the expansion. Your squad is much more interesting this way, and losing a member of the squad is even harder than before because of it. Indeed, you can even set different languages for your squad mates now, which is nice for flavor given the international nature of the XCOM project. You can choose from an enormous wardrobe of different uniforms, color combinations, and other character tweaks.

There's also a bevy of new customization options for your squad. Simple, smaller tweaks such as the ability to "Make All Items Available" in the soldier loadout screen also make the game more intuitive.
